i try to install, i get to the part where it asks to install the runtimes, i click okay, but i just get this:

"An error occurred while installing system components for SynthEdit."

when i look at the details i get this:

"Setup has detected that the file 'C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSD8F.tmp\vcredist_x86\vcredist_x86.exe' has changed since it was initially published.
See the setup log file located at 'C:\DOCUME~1\ADMINI~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\VSD8F.tmp\install.log' for more information."

even though it supposedly isn't able to install, the synthedit icon is in my start menu, but when I try to open it i get this:

"this application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

but it DIDN't fix the problem. i keep getting these messages.

ive tried installing the C++ runtimes manually too but that doesnt make a difference. please help...

What operating system are you using?

Looks like you are running setup direct from the zip file, and the install can't locate some files. Extract the zip files to disk first, then run setup.
